Lawmakers in the state of Michigan have approved a $400 million windfall for roads as part of the fiscal year 2020 transportation budget without having to raise taxes.
Sen. Roger Victory (R-Hudsonville), vice chairman of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, is touting Senate Bill 149 as win for win for everyone.
“Today’s vote builds upon the promise we made to taxpayers to find money within our existing budget to fund road repairs,” Victory said in a press release. “The transportation budget includes significant money for local repairs.”
