Grand Valley State University issued the following announcement on Aug. 18
More than 5,000 new and returning Grand Valley students will move to campus August 23-27, following a procedure developed to keep everyone as safe as possible.
Students have been scheduled a day and time to move in to help maintain a physical distance. Students and their supporters assisting with move-in must complete the Lakers Together Daily Self-Assessment before arriving on campus.
Volunteers will available to answer questions, but will not touch students’ belongings. Anyone going inside a GVSU building is required to wear a face covering.
Move-in week will conclude with a virtual Convocation ceremony on Friday, August 28, when President Philomena V. Mantella will address first-year students.
Convocation is a celebration that marks the beginning of the academic year. The ceremony will be live-streamed from the Allendale Campus and will last approximately 25 minutes. All students, faculty and staff members are invited to watch the Convocation live stream.
