City of Brighton issued the following announcement on July 21.
An asphalt preservation treatment, known as Reclamite, will be applied in various parts of the City next week. The following areas will be getting treatment:
- Church Street
- Rickett-Between S. Church and Sisu Knoll
- Alpine Drive and Alpine Court
- Third Street
- Fairway Trails and Court
Reclamite is an asphalt emulsion treatment used on newer asphalt. The treatment penetrates the road surface and replaces emulsion that has been “cooked” away during the production and laying process. It helps increase asphalt flexibility and extend its life. This product will track when driven or walked on, but this will become less likely as the treatment soaks in and completely dries in a few weeks time. This product will not harm your pets and will not harm your concrete. Any material that does get on your driveway will fade over time and it is recommended to keep pets in your yard so they do not track this in your home. All work is weather pending and actual dates of treatment may vary.
The City of Brighton is committed to maintaining quality infrastructure throughout the City. If you have any questions on this project or other projects, please contact:
