City of Coopersville issued the following announcement on July 21.
WATER RESTRICTION NOTICE: Next week, starting on July 26th, the Ottawa County Road Commission will be doing permanent repairs on two leaks that occurred on the water transmission main that feeds the City of Coopersville under 60th Avenue.
These two leaks occurred earlier in the summer and were fixed with temporary solutions. A permanent repair is now being completed to ensure no problems in the future.
The two sites will be prepped on Monday, July 26th, with the first repair happening on Tuesday, July 27th, and the second repair happening on Wednesday, July 28th. Thursday, July 29th, is reserved in case of bad weather. The City of Coopersville is requesting all residents and businesses to eliminate any excess water usage during the days that the repair work is taking place (July 27th-29th).
This includes, but is not limited to, watering lawns, washing vehicles/equipment, filling pools, running faucets for an extended period of time, and any other activity that requires an excess of running water.
During the repair work, water will be shut off to the entire city and the city will be reliant on our two water towers for supply and pressure. It is anticipated that water will be shut off at 9am each day and the repair work will take a minimum of 6 hours each. If water use is too much and system pressure drops, the city will be issuing a boil water notice to all impacted customers.
