Spring Spruce Up

City of Allegan recently issued the following announcement.

Beginning April 4 and ending June 3, 2022 City of Allegan residents may place leaves and brush at the street edge for pick up. Placement of brush and leaf piles at the streets edge can only occur during this time frame.

Brush and leaf piles must be placed into separate piles or in bags. Leaf piles need to be within 3 feet of the edge of the road for the vacuums to reach. Leaf piles cannot be placed near utility poles, guy-wires, hydrants, mail boxes, or other obstructions; leaf piles also must not block storm drains. On Monday of each week during this time frame the City will begin on the main streets and then move onto the side streets throughout the week.
