City of Allegan issued the following announcement on Mar 23.
Beginning April 4, 2022 and ending June 3, 2022 City of Allegan residents may place leaves and brush at the street edge for pick up. Placement of brush and leaf piles at the streets edge can occur ONLY during this time frame.
Brush piles and leaf piles must be placed into separate piles or in bags.
Leaf piles need to be within 3 feet of the edge of the road for the vacuums to reach. Leaf piles cannot be placed near utility poles, guy wires, hydrants, mail boxes or other obstructions. The leaves need to be placed close to the edge of the road, but cannot block storm drains which can cause flooding.
Brush must not exceed 4 inches in diameter and must be from the property owners regular trimming and yard clean up, not from a contracted tree removal service. Brush shall not contain trash, vines, building materials, stumps, or roots.
On Monday of each week during this time frame the City will begin on the main streets and then move onto the side streets throughout the week.
