Graduation Ceremony for the Reserve Police Officer Academy Class of 2022

College graduation form 690

Holland Department of Public Safety issued the following announcement on Mar 30.

Recently we held the graduation ceremony for the Reserve Police Officer Academy, Class of 2022, and welcomed the 6 newest members to the unit and the department.

Reserve officers all have other jobs but choose this opportunity as a way to give back to the community as well as support the department. Much of what a reserve officer does is on a volunteer basis and we are so grateful to each member of the unit as reserve officers are critical to the operation of our agency. Reserve Officers ride with a full-time officer monthly to function as a backup officer, plus work a large variety of other details, including various high school and college sporting events, downtown street performers, runs, walks and other community events.

In addition, they provide incredible support during Tulip Time, which, without the reserve unit, would create a real challenge to manage traffic control. We wish to thank each of them for their commitment to the department and their willingness to serve their community in this way!
