The clock down for the Michigan General Primaries has started!

There are only two weeks until the voting day; August 2, 2022! Here are some quick facts to know if you are voting in this election as a resident in the City of Hudsonville:

• There are only two weeks till August 2, which means to register to vote you’ll need to visit your local Clerk’s office while bringing proof of residency.

• The City of Hudsonville’s Clerk office will be open Mondays – Thursdays from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Fridays from 7:30 am to 11:30 am. However, on Saturday, July 30 the Clerk’s office will be open from 8 am to 4 pm in order to do voter registration and absentee ballot issuance.

• If you are voting via absentee ballot; the deadline to mail in your ballot is July 29. However, both the Post Office and Secretary of State highly recommend not wait that long to mail it out. You can also return your absentee ballot to the City Hall in-person until 8 pm on August 2.

• If you are voting in person, the election will be held on August 2 from 7 am to 8 pm. The city of Hudsonville has three polling wards (to learn what ward you are looking in please view the Wards Map on the City of Hudsonville website). Ward 1 and Ward 2 polling location is at Hudsonville City Hall, while Ward 3 polling location is at the Hudsonville Congregational UCC Church.

• Lastly, the deadline to spoil a ballot is August 1. You’ll need to return that ballot that you want to spoil by 10 am on August 1. And if you have not received your ballet you will need to contact City Hall by 4 PM on August 1. Then you’ll have to vote in person.
