Congressman Bill Huizenga (R-MI) has joined a bipartisan resolution that supports Israel and condemns the recent attacks by Hamas. The resolution, introduced by House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) and Ranking Member Gregory Meeks (D-NY), has garnered support from 390 members of Congress.

In a statement, Congressman Huizenga expressed his strong condemnation of the attacks, stating, "This barbaric attack against Israel is completely unacceptable and cannot be tolerated." He highlighted the bipartisan unity in Congress, saying, "With 390 members of Congress coming together to condemn the savagery and atrocities committed by Hamas, it demonstrates the bipartisan strength and resolve of American support for Israel."

Chairman McCaul emphasized the need for the United States to stand firmly with Israel in the face of these terrorist acts. He stated, "Now is the time to show the world the United States firmly stands with our friend and ally Israel in our condemnation of this heinous attack by Iran-backed terrorists." He also expressed his expectation for the resolution to be one of the first items considered on the House floor and to receive overwhelming bipartisan support.

Ranking Member Meeks highlighted President Biden's commitment to Israel's self-defense and emphasized the bipartisan nature of the resolution. He stated, "Israel is responding to the Hamas terror organization's unprecedented attack. The bipartisan resolution will demonstrate this is one issue in which the US House of Representatives is united, and I expect it to pass the House with broad bipartisan support."

The resolution aims to address the recent attacks by Hamas and reaffirm the United States' support for Israel. It is expected to be a priority once a new Speaker is elected in the House.
