Martin Public Schools Education: 614 students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 614 students enrolled in Martin Public Schools in the 2022-23 school year, 1.5% more than the previous year, according to the Michigan Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 55% of them were boys, and 45% were girls.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, representing 84.2% of the Martin Public Schools total enrollment.

Martin Public Schools covers two schools within Allegan County with its main office in Martin. Among them, Martin High School recorded the highest enrollment of 332 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Overall student enrollment in Michigan remains below pre-pandemic levels, white students experiencing the largest decline at 6.5%.

Academic performance has also suffered, with the state's average NAEP score dropping by 6.5 points and ethnic achievement gaps widening. Black and Hispanic students' average math proficiency dropped by 7% in 2022, to 13.5% and 28.2%, respectively.
