Representative Tisdel voted yes on HB 4705, which designates a portion of highway M-150 in Oakland County as the “William S. Broomfield Memorial Highway. He explained, "This highway naming allows us to express our gratitude and appreciation for William S. Broomfield and his service to our state and nation."
On the other hand, Representatives Outman and Roth sponsored HBs 4977 & 4978, with the former authorizing certain summer resort organizations to convert into domestic non-profits and the latter adding summer resorts formed under PA 39 of 1889 to the defined list of corporations under the Nonprofit Corporation Act. The bills passed with wide margins, but Representative Dievendorf voted no, stating, "Summer resorts are exactly that, and should be incorporated as such."
Lastly, Representative Dievendorf voted yes on HB 4924, which would create the Uniform Partition of Heirs Property Act. He explained, "This uniform act creates a process that is more fair to a deceased person’s heirs and protects them against real-estate speculators."
