Rep. Slagh invites residents to join him at his upcoming office hours in Jenison, Hudsonville, and Zeeland on Friday, July 26.

Local office hours are an opportunity for constituents to meet face-to-face with Rep. Slagh to share their thoughts, questions, and concerns. No appointments are necessary to attend.

Office hours will take place at the following times and locations:

- From 7 to 8 a.m. at Big Apple Bagels located at 306 Baldwin St. in Jenison

- From 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Arrows Restaurant located at 4225 32nd Ave. in Hudsonville

- From 10 to 11 a.m. at The Farmhouse Restaurant located at 430 W Washington Ave. in Zeeland

This month, Slagh said he is available to answer questions from community members about the fiscal year 2025 budget that will soon be signed into law by the governor. Slagh did not support the budget, as he did not believe it focuses on the overarching concerns of his community.

“Transparency is an important function of our government,” Slagh said. “That’s why I look forward to the opportunity to speak directly with those I represent about the irresponsible spending in this budget. Funding was targeted strategically to special projects and corporate handouts in specific areas of the state. I can’t support a plan that doesn’t focus on the universal and essential services like education, infrastructure and road repairs that families in Ottawa County are counting on.”

Slagh serves as the Republican vice chair of the Department of Corrections budget subcommittee and said he was especially disappointed that the retention and recruitment of corrections officers will remain underfunded in 2025 under the Democrats’ spending plan.

Those unable to attend Rep. Slagh’s local office hours may share their thoughts by contacting his Lansing office at (517) 373-0841 or [email protected]. Mail can be addressed to his office at S-1189 House Office Building P.O. Box 30014 Lansing, MI 48909.
