The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced the results of its preseason football poll, determined by a vote of the league coaches.

Ferris State was selected to win the 2024 conference crown, receiving four votes and 46 points. Two-time defending GLIAC champion Grand Valley State was picked second with three first-place votes and 44 points. Led by 2023 GLIAC Coach of the Year Scott Wooster, the Lakers posted an 11-2 overall record last year, including a perfect 6-0 mark in conference play and advancing to the NCAA Quarterfinals. GVSU, ranked number seven in Lindy's College Football Yearbook preseason national poll, has won 16 consecutive GLIAC games and holds a 33-5 mark overall over the last three years.

The Lakers return 57 letterwinners and 24 players who have started games over the past three years.

Davenport, which has achieved back-to-back eight-win seasons, garnered one first-place vote and was selected third with 38 points. Saginaw Valley State, which secured its third-consecutive winning season in 2023, was chosen fourth with 30 points. Michigan Tech (26), Wayne State (20), Northern Michigan (13), and conference-newcomer Roosevelt (7) rounded out the GLIAC preseason poll.
