The GVSU men's golf team is set to begin their season on Monday afternoon at the Folds of Honor Collegiate, held at the American Dunes Golf Course in Grand Haven. The event spans three days, with participants playing 18 holes each day and concluding on Wednesday afternoon.

This marks the third consecutive year that the Lakers will participate in this prestigious event as the only Division II school in the field. They enter the season ranked seventh in the GCAA preseason poll. For this event, the Lakers are paired with Alabama and Notre Dame, teeing off on Monday afternoon starting at 12:27.

Representing GVSU will be Manuel Cue Vargas, Drew Coble, Charlie Cooley, Bryce Wheeler, and Andrew Gwilliams. Cue Vargas, Coble, Cooley, and Wheeler all competed in this tournament last year. Additionally, Coble, Wheeler, and Cooley were part of the lineup two years ago.

In their first appearance at this event, the Lakers finished 11th overall with Coble tying for 14th place individually. Last season they tied for 13th place with Coble again leading the team by finishing 45th.

Live coverage of the event can be followed through live stats links or watched on Golf Channel or Peacock throughout each day.
