GVSU women's golf team begins fall season at Folds of Honor Collegiate

The GVSU women's golf team commenced their fall season at the American Dunes Golf Course, participating in the Folds of Honor Collegiate. After completing the first 18 holes, the Lakers are positioned in 13th place.

Arizona leads the tournament at one over par. Ohio State trails by a single stroke in second place, followed by Texas in third at three over. Florida State holds fourth place at +5, with Baylor rounding out the top five at +12. GVSU stands in 13th place with a score of +27 for the opening round.

Julia Sanchez is currently the highest-ranked Laker golfer, tied for 17th after scoring two birdies and finishing with a round of 74 (+2). Olivia Stoll recorded a round of 77 (+5), including two birdies, and is tied for 36th. Evelyn Park sits in a tie for 61st after making one birdie and shooting an 81 (+9). Lea Stotz finished her round with an 83 (+11) and is positioned in 69th, having made one birdie. Paula Badino completed her round with two birdies and an overall score of 84 (+12), placing her in 74th.

The Lakers will begin their second round tomorrow at noon, paired with Arizona and Kansas.
