GVSU men's golf team falls to 11th as Drew Coble stays in top five

The GVSU men's golf team completed round two at the Folds of Honor Collegiate in Grand Haven, Michigan. The Lakers fell to 11th place, but Drew Coble remains in the top five heading into tomorrow's final round.

Alabama continues to lead, sitting at -5 after two rounds. Illinois is in second, just one stroke back at four under. Notre Dame is in third at two over, followed by Michigan State in fourth at three over. Rounding out the top five is Texas, who is at five over after day two. GVSU is in 11th place with a score of +30.

Drew Coble ended round two tied for fifth at -2. Coble birdied three holes today to shoot even par for the day. Andrew Gwilliams is tied for 44th after shooting a 77 (+9) today, making four birdies to end at +10 overall. Charlie Cooley is tied for 52nd at +12; he carded a round of 76 (+5) today and sank one birdie. Manuel Cue Vargas made two birdies in his round of 81 (+10), ending at +14 and tying for 59th place. Bryce Wheeler finished the day tied for 65th at +15 after shooting a round of 83 (+12) with one birdie.

The Lakers will tee off the final round of the event tomorrow at 12:27 PM and will play alongside Navy and Kentucky.
