The GVSU women's golf team concluded their participation in the Folds of Honor Collegiate tournament this afternoon, securing 14th place. Notably, they were the only Division II school competing in the event.
Arizona emerged as the team champion, finishing at four over par after shooting six under on the final day. Florida State, despite a two-under performance today, dropped to second place with a total score of seven over par. Ohio State secured third place at sixteen over par, followed by Texas, Baylor, and Michigan State, all tied for fourth at nineteen over par. GVSU ended in 14th place with a score of seventy-one over par.
Olivia Stoll led the Lakers' efforts, tying for 29th place with a ten-over-par finish. Stoll recorded two birdies during her final round of 77 (+5). Paula Badino achieved her best round of the tournament today with a score of 75 (+3), including two birdies, which moved her into a tie for 53rd place at eighteen over par. Julia Sanchez also made two birdies in her round of 74 (+2), ending tied for 60th at twenty-one over par. Lea Stotz finished in 71st place at thirty-two over par after shooting a final round of 79 (+7) with two birdies. Evelyn Park concluded her tournament in 73rd place with a final round score of 81 (+9) and one birdie, finishing thirty-three over par.
GVSU will next compete on their home course from Sunday through Tuesday for the Folds of Honor Challenge.
