GVSU women’s golf team leads Folds of Honor Challenge after first round

The GVSU women's golf team began their participation in the Folds of Honor Challenge at the Meadows in Allendale, Michigan, today. After the opening round, the Lakers are leading the event with five golfers positioned within the top 10.

GVSU currently stands at +19, holding a three-stroke lead over second-place Findlay. Ferris State follows at twenty-seven over par, with West Texas A&M at +32 and Oklahoma City completing the top five at +39.

Olivia Stoll leads all individual competitors with a score of one over par, carding a 72 that included four birdies. Evelyn Park and Rachael Krieger are both tied for fifth place at +5. Park recorded one birdie while Krieger sank two. Megan Miron and Paula Badino are tied for eighth after shooting rounds of 77 (+6), with Miron making two birdies and Badino one. Julia Sanchez ended her round with a score of 78 (+7), tying for 11th place, while Charlotte Goersch shot an 81 (+10) to tie for 20th.

The Lakers will commence round two tomorrow morning at 9:30.
