GVSU women’s golf team competes in Mary Fossum Invitational

The GVSU women's golf team participated in their third tournament of the fall season at the Mary Fossum Invitational in East Lansing, Michigan. As the only Division II school in the competition, the Lakers concluded the first two rounds in 11th place.

Ole Miss leads the event with a score of -13 after rounds of 274 and 289. Minnesota follows in second place, trailing by 11 strokes at -2. Florida holds third place at +5, while host Michigan State is fourth at six over par. Michigan is positioned fifth at +13. GVSU stands in 11th place with scores of 304 and 303, placing them ahead of four Division I teams.

Olivia Stoll is currently the top golfer for the Lakers, tied for 28th place at +5 with rounds of 74 (+2) and 75 (+3), including four birdies. Megan Miron shot rounds of 74 and 79 (+7), also with four birdies, tying for 55th place at +9. Paula Badino and Charlotte Goersch are both tied for 58th place at +10 after two rounds. Badino recorded rounds of 83 (+11) and 71 (-1) with five birdies, while Goersch had rounds of 76 (+4) and 78 (+6) with one birdie. Rachael Krieger made two birdies during her rounds of 80 (+9) and 84 (+12), ending in 79th place at +20.

The Lakers will play their final round tomorrow, starting at 8:30 a.m.
