The GVSU women's golf team concluded their final tournament of September, securing 10th place at the Mary Fossum Invitational in East Lansing, Michigan.
Ole Miss dominated the competition, finishing 15 strokes ahead of second place. The Rebels ended at -17 with a final round score of 284 (-4). Michigan State recorded the best final round, shooting a 280 (-8) to move up two spots and finish second at -2. Minnesota secured third place at +8, followed by Florida in fourth at +10, and Miami in fifth with +20. GVSU placed 10th after shooting their best round of the tournament at 292 (+4), ending with a total score of +35.
Olivia Stoll led GVSU, tying for 25th place. Stoll's final round was a 73 (+1) with three birdies, finishing six over par. Paula Badino and Charlotte Goersch both tied for 40th place at +11. Each golfer shot a final round of 73; Badino made four birdies while Goersch had two. Megan Miron tied for 64th place at +16 after shooting a final round of 79 (+7). Rachael Krieger finished in 76th place with a score of +21, making two birdies in her final round of 73.
The Lakers will take a break for the next two weeks before competing again at home during the Gilda's Club Invitational on October 5th and 6th.
