GVSU men's golf team ties for fourth in Florida tournament

The GVSU men's golf team is currently in Florida participating in the DII National Preview Tournament. After the first two rounds, the Lakers are tied for fourth place.

Colorado Christian leads after two rounds with a score of -7. Oklahoma Christian follows in second place at -4, while Palm Beach Atlantic holds third at +2. GVSU and Florida Southern are tied for fourth at five over par.

Drew Coble had a notable performance on the first day, shooting rounds of 67 (-4) and 71 (E), placing him in fourth overall with seven birdies. Bryce Wheeler is tied for sixth after carding rounds of 69 (-2) and 71, making eight birdies to finish at -2. Charlie Cooley is tied for 11th with rounds of 70 (-1) and 72 (+2), totaling six birdies to end even par. Manuel Cue Vargas finished his day tied for 59th at +11, with rounds of 74 (+3) and 79 (+7). Andrew Gwilliams is tied for 70th at +17 after scoring rounds of 80 (+9) and 79, making three birdies.

GVSU will begin round three tomorrow morning starting at 8:20 AM.
