GVSU women's golf team wins Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invite

The Grand Valley State University (GVSU) women's golf team secured a victory at the Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invite, held in Allendale, Michigan. This event marked their final home appearance for the fall season. The team maintained a consistent lead throughout the tournament to achieve their first win of the spring.

GVSU concluded with a final round score of 306, finishing at +33. Ferris State claimed second place, trailing by 23 strokes. Davenport followed in third at +63, with Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) in fourth at +76 and Northwood University rounding out the top five at +83.

Freshman Charlotte Goersch achieved her first collegiate win after advancing from 10th place at the start of the day. She completed her round with a score of 74 (+2), including three birdies, ending eight over par. Megan Miron, Rachael Krieger, and Paula Badino all tied for third place at +10. Miron scored 76 (+4) with three birdies; Krieger also had three birdies and shot a 75 (+3); while Badino recorded an 81 (+9) with two birdies.

Lea Stotz and Olivia Stoll both finished tied for sixth place at +11. Stoll made two birdies during her round of 81, whereas Stotz shot a 77 (+5) with three birdies. Evelyn Park placed ninth after shooting an 80 (+8), concluding at +13 with two birdies. Julia Sanchez ended in tenth position at +14 following a final round of 80 that included one birdie. Lorena Saquicoray tied for 21st place at +18 after carding an 85 (+13).

The GVSU women's golf team is set to compete again tomorrow in Big Rapids at the Lady Bulldog Invitational.
