The Grand Valley State women's soccer team, ranked 16th, secured a 2-0 victory against Parkside on Friday in Kenosha, Wisconsin. This win brings the Lakers' season record to 7-1-3 and their GLIAC play record to 4-1-2.

The scoring commenced in the 25th minute when Kennedy Bearden capitalized on a penalty kick following a handball by Parkside in the box. This marked Bearden's third goal of the season.

In the second half, Taylor Reid contributed to doubling the lead in the 67th minute. Reid's cross deflected off two Parkside defenders before Ryann Fetty passed it to Sarah Fromm, who scored with her right foot into the top left corner of the goal. It was Fromm's second goal this season and Fetty's first assist.

Throughout the match, GVSU outshot Parkside 18-10 and had six shots on goal compared to Parkside's two. The Lakers also led with six corner kicks against Parkside's two. Bearden not only scored but also took three shots during the game. Fromm led with four shots, including two on target. Abby Winn added three shots with one on target, while Amanda Palmer and Emma Chudik each contributed two shots with one on target.
