Grand Valley State secures victory over Roosevelt with Kleiver's two goals

The Grand Valley State women's soccer team, ranked 24th, secured a 2-0 victory against Roosevelt on Friday. This win improved their season record to 8-1-3 and their conference record in the GLIAC to 5-1-2.

In a dominant performance, the Lakers outshot Roosevelt 33-1 and achieved a season-high of 22 corner kicks. They managed 12 shots on goal while preventing Roosevelt from having any shots on target.

Ella Kleiver was instrumental in the victory, scoring both goals for the Lakers. Her first goal came in the 25th minute with assistance from Ryann Fetty. Kleiver's second goal followed three minutes later after receiving a pass from Taylor Reid.

Kleiver led the team's offensive efforts with seven shots, two of which were on target. Reid contributed her fourth assist of the season, and Fetty provided her second assist. Sarah Fromm attempted five shots with one on goal, while Kendall Aikens had four shots. Goalkeeper Cailynn Junk earned her fifth individual shutout this season.
