Grand Valley State University's men's cross country team participated in the Calvin Knight Invite held in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Lakers secured fourth place with a total score of 82 points.

Leading the team was Gabriel Connelly, who finished sixth with a personal-best time of 25:57.1. Justin Hoffman also achieved a personal best, completing the race in 27:43.1 and securing the 12th position.

"It was great to see Gabe and Justin put on a strong performance from start to finish after battling through adversity over the last couple of years," stated Head Coach Jerry Baltes.

The team had nine participants representing Grand Valley, including Adair Artis, who made his collegiate cross country debut by finishing 51st at 27:43.1.

"This was a good building opportunity for our squads," Baltes remarked. "We were able to get in there and mix it up and gain some valuable experience."

Looking ahead, GVSU's cross country team is set to compete again on Friday, October 4th at the Joe Piane – Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Indiana.
