Grand Valley State University's Kellen Reed has been recognized as the GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week. The announcement was made by the GLIAC office following Reed's impressive performance in a recent game.

Reed, a sophomore wide receiver, returned the opening kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown during the Lakers' 49-17 win against Northern Michigan on October 12 at Lubbers Stadium. He also had another kickoff return for a touchdown, which was limited to 32 yards due to a penalty. Reed has maintained an average of 28.9 yards per return this season, with seven returns totaling 198 yards, despite opponents often kicking away from him. This achievement marks his third career kickoff return for a touchdown.

The Grand Valley State Lakers currently hold a 6-0 record and are ranked second in both the AFCA and D2Football polls. They are preparing for an important GLIAC matchup against Saginaw Valley State, who have a record of 5-1 and are ranked twenty-third.
