GVSU women's golf secures second place on first day at Nemacolin

The GVSU women's golf team participated in the Intercollegiate at Nemacolin, marking their final tournament of the fall season. The event, held in Farmington, Pennsylvania, saw the Lakers finish the first day in second place after play was halted early due to darkness.

Host team Findlay took a commanding lead, ending day one with a score of two over par, 12 strokes ahead of GVSU. The Lakers posted a +14 on their opening day. Tiffin followed in third place with +23, while North Georgia and UIndy rounded out the top five with scores of +25 and +37 respectively.

Among individual performances for GVSU, Megan Miron led her team by securing third place overall. She achieved four birdies to conclude the day at even par. Charlotte Goersch was not far behind in sixth position with four birdies and a score of four over par. Olivia Stoll carded six birdies to claim eighth place at five over par. Lea Stotz and Evelyn Park finished in 15th and 20th places respectively, recording scores of nine over and twelve over par.
