The Grand Valley State University (GVSU) women's golf team concluded their first tournament of the spring season in Sarasota, Florida. The Lakers secured 14th place after completing two rounds.
Ohio State emerged victorious in the event with a final round score of 285 (-3), finishing at even par. College of Charleston followed in second place, shooting six under to end at two over par. Tennessee claimed third place with a total score of four over, thanks to a seven-under performance in the final round. Georgia Southern took fourth place with a round of 283 (-5), ending at five over par. Oklahoma rounded out the top five by shooting six under and concluding the tournament at seven over par.
GVSU's Olivia Stoll made an impressive five birdies and an eagle, scoring a final round of 71 (-1) and tying for 30th place at four over par. Teammates Julia Sanchez and Paula Badino both finished tied for 61st at twelve over par; Sanchez scored a 77 (+5) today with one birdie, while Badino had one birdie during her round of 79 (+7). Megan Miron completed her final round with a score of 78 (+6) and one birdie, while Rachael Krieger ended her day with a score of 76 (+4) and one birdie, placing her in 80th position.
The GVSU women's golf team will have no competitions throughout March but will resume play on April 1st at the Lady Moc 2.0 tournament in Lakeland, Florida.
