Lakers compete on day one at Spartan Sun Coast Invitational

The GVSU women's golf team commenced their spring season at the Spartan Sun Coast Invitational in Sarasota, Florida. Competing as the only non-Division I school, the Lakers finished the first day in 14th place after two rounds.

Ohio State currently leads the event with a score of three over par, posting a round of 291. Charleston follows in second place at eight over par, with North Carolina close behind at nine over. Georgia Southern holds fourth place at ten over par, and Tennessee rounds out the top five at eleven over.

GVSU players Olivia Stoll and Paula Badino are tied for 37th position after each shot a round of 77, both making one birdie. Julia Sanchez is tied for 57th after carding four birdies in her round of 79. Megan Miron is tied for 65th with a score of 81, including two birdies. Rachael Krieger stands in 80th place following her round of 86.

The Lakers will conclude their participation in the Spartan Sun Coast Invitational tomorrow.
