GVSU women's golf team clinches GLIAC Championship title

The GVSU women's golf team has emerged victorious at the GLIAC Championships, defeating Davenport with a clean sweep of 5-0 in the final match. The event took place in Gull Lake, Michigan.

The Lakers began their campaign by securing the top seed after winning the stroke play segment. In the semifinals, they faced Ferris State and secured a 4-1 victory to advance to the finals against Davenport University (DU). The Lakers showcased a strong performance as all five team members won their respective matches by margins of two or more strokes.

Individual performances included Paula Badino and Olivia Stoll, who both shot a 75, with Badino winning her match by four strokes and Stoll by two. Rachael Krieger posted a score of 76, claiming victory by six strokes. Julia Sanchez also shot a 76, winning her match by three strokes. Megan Miron completed the lineup with a score of 78, earning a win by four strokes.

This triumph marks GVSU's 17th GLIAC title since 2002 and is their first championship win since 2022.
