GVSU women's golf team eighth after first day at Lady Moc tournament

The GVSU women's golf team competed at the Lady Moc 2.0 tournament in Lakeland, Florida, concluding the first day in eighth place. The Lakers are three strokes behind the top five teams after two rounds.

Dallas Baptist University is leading with scores of 293 and 284, marking a one-over-par total for the first two rounds. Lynn University and Flagler College are tied for second place at eight over par. Nova Southeastern University follows in fourth place at +10, with Lander University rounding out the top five at +12. GVSU's scores were 303 and 288, putting them at +15.

Two GVSU golfers, Olivia Stoll and Megan Miron, are tied for 25th position at four over par. Stoll recorded rounds of 75 (+3) and 73 (+1), achieving seven birdies throughout the day. Miron scored rounds of 77 (+5) and 71 (-1), making two birdies.

Paula Badino is tied for 34th with a score of +6 after posting rounds of 76 (+4) and 74 (+2), including three birdies. Julia Sanchez shot rounds of 75 (+3) and 76 (+4), scoring four birdies to finish tied for 42nd at seven over par. Rachael Krieger had an opening round of 83 (+11) followed by a notable second round of 70 (-2), making five birdies to end the day tied for 52nd at +9. Lorena Saquicoray finished her rounds with scores of 88 and 89, each including one birdie, placing her in the 93rd position.

The Lakers will compete in the final round tomorrow.
