GVSU women's golf team secures second place on first day of GLIAC Championships

The GVSU women's golf team started their postseason at the GLIAC Championships, concluding the first day in second place. Davenport University leads with a score of 300 (+12), while GVSU trails by four strokes at +16 with a score of 304. Ferris State holds third place at twenty-two over par, followed by SVSU in fourth at +24. Wayne State is close behind SVSU, scoring +25 with a round of 313.

Olivia Stoll from GVSU made one birdie and finished her round at 74 (+3), placing her in second position after the first day. Julia Sanchez is just one stroke behind Stoll with a score of 75 (+4), also recording one birdie. Megan Miron achieved two birdies during her round of 77 (+6), tying for 12th place. Paula Badino shares the 17th spot with a similar score of +6 after shooting a round of 77. Rachael Krieger tied for 31st place, finishing twelve over par.

The Lakers are set to play their second round tomorrow morning. The top four teams will proceed to the match play semifinals scheduled for the afternoon.
