The Grand Valley State University (GVSU) women's basketball team secured the GLIAC Tournament title, adding to their regular season championship. They faced Northern Michigan in the final, a team they had previously encountered in overtime just a week earlier. This time, GVSU dominated from start to finish, winning decisively with a score of 67-48.

The Lakers began strongly with an early lead of 12-3, thanks to three-pointers by Rylie Bisballe and Abrie Cabana. Although Northern Michigan narrowed the gap to 15-13 towards the end of the first quarter, another successful shot from Bisballe put GVSU ahead 18-13 going into the second quarter.

In the following quarter, GVSU expanded their advantage further after Hadley Miller's three-pointer increased their lead to ten points. Despite Northern Michigan reducing it slightly, Cabana responded with another three-pointer followed by Pange Vanstee's layup and free throw. The Lakers maintained a double-digit lead for the rest of the half, leading 40-29 at halftime.

Northern Michigan attempted a comeback at the start of the second half but only managed to cut their deficit to seven points at 42-35. GVSU then went on a decisive 12-2 run which included another three-pointer from Miller, ending the third quarter at 54-37.

Throughout the fourth quarter, GVSU kept control and did not allow Northern Michigan any significant runs. The Lakers sealed their victory with six free throws and a three-pointer from Molly Anderson. This win marked their second consecutive GLIAC Tournament title.

Rylie Bisballe delivered an impressive performance with her fourth double-double of the year, scoring 16 points and grabbing ten rebounds. Abrie Cabana contributed 14 points while Hadley Miller added eleven and Nicole Kamin ten. Paige Vanstee recorded six points and five rebounds; Molly Anderson and Lexi Plitzuweit each collected six rebounds.

Post-game honors were awarded as Rylie Bisballe was named GLIAC Tournament MVP while Hadley Miller earned a spot on the All-Tournament team.

Looking ahead, GVSU awaits news about their placement in this week's Midwest Regional during tonight's selection show airing at 10:30 PM.
