The GVSU women's basketball team has secured the top seed in the Midwest Region and will host this weekend's NCAA tournament. This marks the first time since the 2004-05 season that the Lakers will host the regional competition.

The tournament is set to begin with quarterfinal matches on Friday, followed by semifinals on Saturday, and concluding with the Championship game on Monday. The Lakers have made it to the NCAA Tournament for nine consecutive seasons, including two appearances in the Final Four. They enter this regional contest on a 14-game winning streak and are scheduled to face eighth-seed Trevecca Nazarene on Friday evening at 5:00 PM.

Friday's schedule includes four games: Lewis versus Ferris State at noon, Drury against Ashland at 2:30 PM, Trevecca Nazarene facing GVSU at 5:00 PM, and Kentucky Wesleyan playing NMU at 7:30 PM.

On Saturday, winners from Friday's games will compete in two semifinal matches at 5:00 PM and 7:30 PM. The final match of the tournament will take place on Monday evening at 7:00 PM between Saturday's winners.
