The GVSU women's basketball team concluded their regular season with a victory against Michigan Tech, winning 57-46. This result extended their winning streak to 11 games and improved their overall record to 26-2, with a league record of 17-1.

The game was marked by strong defensive plays from both teams. GVSU initially led 6-2 in the first quarter after an Abrie Cabana three-pointer. The period ended with the Lakers leading 8-5 as both teams scored minimally.

In the second quarter, Rylie Bisballe scored a layup to extend the Lakers' lead, but Michigan Tech managed to tie the game at 12. Bisballe responded with a three-pointer that put GVSU back in front—a lead they maintained for the remainder of the game, finishing the half ahead at 22-17.

Michigan Tech reduced the gap to three points early in the third quarter, trailing 24-21. However, GVSU countered with a strong offensive performance, including three-pointers from Lexi Plitzuweit, Cabana, and Hadley Miller. This run resulted in a commanding 43-30 lead entering the fourth quarter.

Despite Michigan Tech's efforts to narrow the margin to nine points late in the game, GVSU secured their win through effective free throw shooting.

Rylie Bisballe was a standout performer with 17 points, nine rebounds, and five steals. Abrie Cabana contributed seven points, while Paige Vanstee added six points and five rebounds. Lexi Plitzuweit also made an impact with five points, six rebounds, and three assists.

GVSU is set to begin their postseason campaign next Wednesday at home against Purdue Northwest in the GLIAC Quarterfinals. The game will start at 6:00 PM.
