The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced its all-league teams, recognizing several players from the regular season champions. Rylie Bisballe, Nicole Kamin, Paige Vanstee, and Hadley Miller received honors, while Mike Williams was named GLIAC Coach of the Year.
Rylie Bisballe earned multiple accolades including GLIAC Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. She was also selected for the First-Team all-conference and All-Defensive team. Bisballe led her team with 13.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game, ranking in the top ten within the league. Her performance in conference play was notable with an average of over 16 points and seven rebounds per game. She scored double figures in 18 of her last 19 games, achieving three double-doubles and earning GLIAC Player of the Week four times.
GVSU head coach Mike Williams was honored as GLIAC Coach of the Year for a fourth time after leading his team to a 27-2 record with a 17-1 mark in conference play. Under his guidance, the Lakers secured their third consecutive regular season title and achieved a number two national ranking along with being top-seeded in the Midwest Region.
Paige Vanstee received recognition as GLIAC Sixth Woman of the Year and made it to the Second-Team All-GLIAC. She averaged 9.1 points and 4.3 rebounds off the bench, shooting at an effective rate both from inside and beyond the arc.
Nicole Kamin joined Bisballe on both First-Team All-GLIAC and All-Defensive teams for her efforts this season. She averaged 8.9 points and led her team with an impressive free throw percentage.
Hadley Miller also made it to the All-Defensive team for her third time due to her strong perimeter defense which contributed significantly to making Lakers one of nation's top defenses.
The Lakers will continue their postseason journey against Parkside in Saturday's GLIAC semifinals.
