Grand Valley State wrestlers receive NWCA Scholar All-American honors

The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) has announced that eight wrestlers from Grand Valley State University (GVSU) have been recognized as 2023-24 NWCA Scholar All-Americans. GVSU, participating as a varsity sport for the first time in over three decades, achieved a 13th-place finish at the NCAA Division II National Championships. The team had an individual national champion in Josh Kenny at the 174-pound weight class and two other All-Americans.

To qualify for NWCA Scholar All-American status, student-athletes are required to maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5.

The honored athletes from GVSU include Miles Curtis, a sophomore majoring in Supply Chain Management; Josh Kenny, also a sophomore studying Business; Seth Konynenbelt, a senior majoring in Engineering; Dylan Lorincz, another senior focusing on Sport Management; Michael Merritt, a junior specializing in Bio Medical Science; Wyatt Miller, a sophomore pursuing Criminal Justice; Matthew Morris, who is studying Engineering; and Collin Twigg, a freshman aiming to become a Physician Assistant.
