Grand Valley State University has seen three of its senior football players named to the Associated Press First-Team All-America. Offensive lineman Garrett Carroll, defensive lineman Christian McCarroll, and linebacker Abe Swanson received the honor, marking them as consensus All-Americans for their performances during the 2023 season.

Garrett Carroll played a crucial role on the offensive line, contributing to an offense that excelled nationally in several categories including scoring and rushing. His blocking efficiency was noted at 94.7 percent for the season.

Christian McCarroll led all GLIAC defensive linemen with 67 tackles and topped the league in tackles for loss with 15.0. He also ranked second in quarterback sacks with eight, despite limited playtime in some games due to not participating in certain halves or quarters.

Abe Swanson, who was also a consensus First-Team All-American in 2022, led his team with 90 tackles this season. His defensive efforts included multiple tackles for loss and quarterback sacks, alongside interceptions and forced fumbles.

The team's overall performance saw Grand Valley State finishing their season with an 11-2 record. They claimed the GLIAC Championship for a second consecutive year and reached the NCAA quarterfinals again.
