Grand Valley State University is set to host the 2024 Spring Football Classic this Saturday, April 13, at noon. The event will take place in the Kelly Family Sports Center due to ongoing renovations at Lubbers Stadium. Sponsored by the Michigan Army National Guard, the event is free for the public and will be broadcast live on FloSports, as well as on local radio stations The Ticket (1340 AM) and WLCS (98.3 FM).

Attendees will have access to GVSU Football merchandise, and representatives from Athletics will be available for season ticket sign-ups and inquiries. Free parking is provided in lots F & G, and concessions will be open at the Kelly Family Sports Center.

The broadcast team of Steve Lloyd-Jones and Bob Mitchell will offer an interactive experience on FloSports, engaging with coaches and players during the event.

Second-year head coach Scott Wooster is concluding his second spring practice session with a roster that includes 54 returning letterwinners, 26 of whom have previous starting experience. "We have had a tremendous spring in terms of growth in all facets of our team both on and off the field," said Wooster. He expressed enthusiasm about the team's approach during spring training: "I am so excited with physical and mental approach that the 2024 team has taken through the entirety of our spring session."

Grand Valley State's football team is scheduled to begin their 2024 season at home against Central State on Thursday, September 5, at 7 p.m.
