Following the opening week of the spring season, Drew Coble, a senior from the Lakers, has been honored as the GLIAC Golfer of the Week. The announcement was made by the league office earlier today.

Coble demonstrated impressive performance by winning the Lander Bearcat Classic and succeeding in both matches against North Georgia in their match play event. He started his week with rounds of 67, 69, and 67 to finish at -13. His efforts included making 14 birdies over these three rounds, which contributed to the Lakers' victory in the tournament as a team. On Friday, when facing top-ranked North Georgia in match play, Coble secured victories in both rounds with scores of 71 and 72. This achievement played a crucial role in helping GVSU overcome the Nighthawks through a tiebreaker.

The Lakers are set to compete next at the Ralph Hargett Invitational scheduled for March 18-19 in North Carolina.
