Five GVSU Lakers earn recognition in GLIAC basketball honors

The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Conference (GLIAC) has announced its men's basketball All-GLIAC teams, recognizing five Lakers from Grand Valley State University (GVSU) for their outstanding performances this season. Three players were named to the second team, while two earned spots on the all-defensive team.

Ethan Alderink, Marius Grazulis, and William Dunn received honors on the All-GLIAC second team. Alderink was a standout player for the Lakers during the regular season, leading in scoring with an average of 12 points per game and shooting 48% from the field. He also contributed significantly by securing 5.3 rebounds per game and scoring in double figures in 17 of his last 20 games.

Marius Grazulis had an impressive season as well, averaging 11.6 points and 7.6 rebounds per game, ranking him second in GLIAC during the regular season. Grazulis achieved six double-doubles this season, including two in his last three games. His notable performances included matching a career-high with 24 points against Michigan Tech and recording a 22-point, 10-rebound double-double at Northern Michigan. For his efforts, he was named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week.

William Dunn made significant contributions in his first season as a Laker, averaging 11 points and five rebounds per game. Dunn led GVSU in three-point shooting with a total of 32 triples at a rate of 44% from beyond the arc. He scored a career-high of 19 points during the GLIAC opener against Davenport and consistently delivered double-digit points over his last five regular-season games.

On the defensive front, guards Mason Docks and Trevor Smith were recognized for their strong performances by being named to the All-GLIAC defensive team. Docks recorded 31 steals throughout the season and set a personal best with four steals at Ferris State. He also averaged 9.9 points per game while providing second-best assists on the team with a total of 74 assists.

Trevor Smith ranked third on the team with his contribution of 29 steals this season while leading GVSU with a total of 101 assists alongside an average scoring rate of 6.4 points per game.
