The Grand Valley State men's basketball team is set to conclude its regular season with games against Northern Michigan University and Michigan Tech. The Lakers will play NMU in Marquette on February 29, followed by a match against MTU in Houghton.
The Lakers head into these final games after securing victories over Ferris State and Lake Superior State at home last weekend. With these wins, GVSU holds a 9-7 record in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) and stands at 12-14 overall. They are positioned fourth in the GLIAC standings and have secured a spot in the upcoming GLIAC Tournament.
In recent performances, Britain Harris achieved a personal best of 23 points against Ferris State, while Trevon Gunter scored a career-high of 29 points against Lake Superior State. Mason Docks was recognized as the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts.
Ethan Alderink leads the Lakers with an average of 12.1 points per game this season, followed by William Dunn who averages 11.1 points and excels in three-point shooting. Marius Grazulis and Britain Harris both contribute an average of 10.2 points per game.
Northern Michigan currently leads the GLIAC with a record of 13-3 and aims to clinch the regular season title this week. Max Weisbrod is a key player for NMU, averaging 16.9 points per game.
Michigan Tech holds a seventh-place position in the GLIAC standings with a record of 7-9. Marcus Tomashek leads MTU's scoring efforts with an average of 22.2 points per game.
