The Grand Valley State women's soccer team has secured a spot in the NCAA Tournament for the 20th consecutive season. The Lakers, holding the third seed in the Midwest Region, are set to compete against McKendree, the sixth seed, in the first round scheduled for Friday, November 17.
With a postseason record of 60-12, GVSU boasts an impressive history, having won seven National Championships—a record in NCAA Division II. The team has also reached 13 final fours and claimed 15 Midwest Regional Championships. They enter this year's tournament with an overall record of 11-3-6.
The upcoming match against McKendree will take place in Marquette on Northern Michigan's campus. Northern Michigan holds the second seed and will play against Maryville, the seventh seed. Winners from these matches will advance to face each other in the second round at Marquette.
Ashland University has earned the top seed in the Midwest region and is set to host Michigan Tech, seeded eighth. Additionally, Northwood (fourth seed) will compete against Cedarville (fifth seed) at Ashland. The victors of these games will meet next in Ashland.
