The Grand Valley State women's soccer team was defeated by Parkside with a score of 1-0 in the GLIAC Tournament semifinals. The match took place on Friday, November 10, at Northern Michigan's campus in Marquette, Michigan. Following this loss, the Lakers now have a season record of 11 wins, 3 losses, and 6 draws.
During the game, Grand Valley State outshot Parkside significantly with a total of 29 attempts compared to Parkside's 10. The Lakers also led in shots on goal with an 11-3 advantage and earned seven corner kicks against Parkside's two. Despite these efforts, Parkside managed to secure their victory with a goal scored in the 18th minute from a free kick that was directed into the box. Although the Lakers generated several opportunities later in the match, they were unable to score an equalizing goal.
Sophomore Kacy Lauer contributed six shots for the Lakers and played throughout all 90 minutes of the match. Junior Ryann Fetty also had four shots during her full-time play on the field. Freshman Ella Kleiver attempted four shots as well while senior Taylor Reid added three shots over her time on the pitch before being substituted after playing for 87 minutes. Redshirt freshman Isabel Imes started as goalkeeper and recorded two saves during her performance.
