The Grand Valley State women's soccer team, ranked No. 20, secured a 4-1 victory over Purdue Northwest on Sunday afternoon at the GVSU Soccer Field. This win brings their season record to 9-2-6 and 7-1-5 in the GLIAC.

The Lakers started strong with an early goal just 45 seconds into the match. Taylor Reid was fouled in the box, leading to a penalty kick that Kacy Lauer converted for her fourth goal of the season. Purdue Northwest managed to equalize later in the first half with a shot from outside the box.

In the second half, GVSU dominated by taking seven shots within ten minutes. They regained their lead in the 61st minute when Ryann Fetty scored after receiving a pass from Reid. This marked Fetty's second goal of the season.

Just four minutes later, Ella Kleiver extended the Lakers' lead with her third goal of the season, assisted by Abby Winn. Alicia White then sealed the victory with her first goal of the season in the 78th minute, following a pass from Fetty.

Lauer and Fetty both contributed significantly with a goal and an assist each. Lauer had three shots with two on target, while Fetty took two shots with one on target. White also made an impact with three shots during her time on the field. Reid provided an assist and recorded seven shots, three of which were on target. Mackenzie Ford played all 90 minutes of the match, while Isabel Imes started as goalkeeper and made one save.

The Lakers are set to conclude their regular season against Davenport on Thursday at home. The game will begin at 7:00 PM at GVSU Soccer Field.
