The Grand Valley State women's soccer team concluded their season with a narrow 1-0 defeat against Washburn in the NCAA Quarterfinals held on Sunday, December 3, 2023, in Ashland, Ohio. The Lakers ended their campaign with a record of 14 wins, four losses, and six draws.

During the match, Washburn managed to outshoot the Lakers with an overall tally of 11-8 and shots on goal standing at 5-4. Despite this advantage in attempts, the Lakers secured more corner kicks than their opponents, achieving four compared to Washburn's two. The decisive moment came in the 80th minute when Washburn scored from a long-range shot that found its way into the top left corner of the net.

Five players from GVSU remained on the field for the entire duration of the match. Kacy Lauer contributed two shots with one being on target. Taylor Reid also made two attempts to score. Additionally, Alli French, Amanda Palmer, and Sophia Morgan each registered a shot on goal during the game.
