Grand Valley State University continues to dominate the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) women's lacrosse awards. This week, Hailey Crittenden and Aislynn Alkire were recognized for their performances, marking the fourth time this season that Lakers players have swept these honors.
Hailey Crittenden, a senior attacker for Grand Valley State, was named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week. Her contributions over the opening weekend of GLIAC play included scoring nine goals across two games, leading her team to victory. She scored four goals in a 17-6 win against Northern Michigan and added five more in a 16-1 victory over Concordia-St. Paul. Crittenden currently ranks fifth in the conference with 28 goals and ninth with 32 points.
Aislynn Alkire, also a senior but playing as a defender, received her third GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week award. Alkire recorded five groundballs and caused two turnovers during the Lakers' two victories. Against Northern Michigan, she secured two groundballs and one turnover; against Concordia-St. Paul, she achieved three groundballs and another turnover. Her efforts contributed significantly to limiting both opponents to their lowest scores of the season.
