Grand Valley State University's men's and women's swim teams are set to commence the 2024-25 season with a meet against Calvin University and Saginaw Valley. The teams, both champions in their respective categories last year, aim to continue their success.

The men's team boasts an impressive record of ten consecutive GLIAC Championships from 2015 to 2024. Last season, they were ranked ninth in the CSCAA polls, suffering only one loss during the regular season against Indianapolis.

The women's team also secured the GLIAC Championship last year, marking their sixth title in over 15 years. They aim to replicate this success in the upcoming season.

Key returning athletes for the men's team include Matt Bosch, Andrew Goh, Jon Kantzenbach, and Brennan Neitzel among a total of 31 returning swimmers. For the women's team, top athletes such as Sara Alvarez, Lucy Hedley, Alyssa Wager, and Maddie Kooistra—the reigning 1-Meter Dive National Champion—are back in action.

The Lakers initiated their season on October 5th with their annual Intersquad Meet. Their first regular-season competition is scheduled for Saturday, October 12, at Venema Aquatic Center.
