The Grand Valley State University (GVSU) softball team, ranked ninth, is set to play against Wayne State in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) matchup on Wednesday, April 10. The doubleheader will begin with the first game at 3:30 PM in Detroit.

The Lakers recently played their first four home games of the season, securing victories over Davenport with scores of 10-1 and 2-1 but losing to Saginaw Valley State 3-1 and 4-0. Their current record stands at 22-9 overall and 5-3 in the GLIAC. GVSU has outscored opponents by a significant margin this season, with a total score of 160-60 and a team batting average of .297.

Key players for GVSU include Hannah Hollister, who leads with a .371 batting average, along with Kelsey Komorous and Morgan Spicer contributing significantly to the team's offensive stats.
