The Grand Valley State women's tennis team faced a challenging match against Indianapolis, resulting in a 7-0 defeat on Saturday in Indianapolis, Indiana. This outcome places the Lakers at a 2-1 record for the season.
Indianapolis secured the doubles point with victories at both No. 1 and No. 3 doubles positions. Vasileia Griva and Rachel Sam achieved a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles, marking their second victory of the weekend. Meanwhile, Taylor Barrett and Neus Ramos experienced a narrow loss with a score of 6-3 at the top doubles position, while Estefania Hernandez and Vale Mozas were defeated 6-2 at No. 3 doubles.
In singles play, Anna Soteras engaged in a close contest but ultimately fell with scores of 6-4, 0-6, 7-10 in three sets at No. 4 singles. Neus Ramos was narrowly defeated with scores of 6-7, 4-6 at No. 3 singles, and Vale Mozas lost her match with scores of 2-6, 5-7 at No. 6 singles.
